Human Memory CD8+ T Cells

Memory T cells are “experienced” T cells that lie dormant in tissues and protect the body from the re-emergence of potentially pathogenic or harmful cells (such as bacteria, viruses, cancer cells). Because memory T cells have encountered their antigen in a previous infection, memory T cells can mount a faster and stronger response the second time around. Memory CD8 T cells are isolated from leukopaks by negative selection using immunomagnetic cell separation procedures.
