B Lymphoblastoid Cell lines are derived by infection of PBMC with Epstein-Barr virus. The virus immortalizes B lymphocytes. It typically is not shed from cells but cultures should still be handled under Biosafety level 2 conditions.
Healthy donor taking no medications. She had osteosarcoma surgically removed in 2005.
PBMC pellets are made from peripheral blood mononuclear cells isolated and washed within a few hours of blood collection. The cells are centrifuged into a tightly packed pellet, all liquid is removed and the cells are rapidly frozen by immersion in liquid nitrogen.
Cells suitable for protein, DNA or RNA isolation.

DRb1 alleles are 15:01 and 15:02. The donor is also Fc gamma RIIIa 158 F/V. She is 5′ 4″ tall and weighs 145 lbs.
